Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written down by men under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is without error and inherently true. Therefore, we believe life is lived best when we put ourselves completely under its authority. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119)
God
We believe that there is one God who is the creator and ruler of the universe. He exists as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They have eternally existed as one God and all have equal power and authority. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 1:9-11; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the physical incarnation of God who came to Earth in the early 1 st century A.D. He was both fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born to a virgin, lived a perfect life, ministered to the people, was voluntarily executed on a cross, and was raised back to life by the Holy Spirit after 3 days. He then ascended to Heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father as the mediator between God and man. (John 1:1-18; Matthew 1:18-23, 16:13-19, 26:65, 28:5-7; John 10:18; Acts 1:9; Philippians 2:5-11)
Man
We believe that God created men and women in His image and likeness. We were created to glorify God and serve Him by responsibly overseeing the Earth and everything in it. However, Adam and Eve, the first two humans, sinned against God and brought about the Fall. Ever since, man has been separated from God because of our sinful nature. (Genesis 1:26-30, 3)
Salvation
We believe the only way to be reconnected to God is to put our faith in His Son, Jesus, and accept the grace that He has to offer through His death on the cross. Jesus, being fully God, voluntarily sacrificed Himself, taking our sin upon Him and transferring His righteousness to everyone who believes. Jesus is the only way to be reconnected to God and experience salvation and eternal life in His presence. (Acts 4:12; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
The Church
We believe that the Church is the global community of followers of Jesus Christ, organized into smaller communities known as local churches. Christ is the head and the Church is the body. The Church exists to introduce non-believers to Jesus, serve their communities, and ultimately glorify God through love and unity. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 1:10)
