Is God conservative or liberal? The answer may surprise you. Today’s reading confronts the modern myth that you can split morality and justice into opposing camps. From cross-dressing to fair wages, from divorce to debt forgiveness, Deuteronomy shows us that God’s righteousness includes both personal holiness and public justice.
