God is Able

Revere Church is here. We're so excited family for what God is doing in and through this community. We are in phase two of building the house campaign and we want to invite you to join us. I want to thank God for being a God who is bringing in and ushering in miracles even today. I want to start. I want to speak life over our congregation. I want to speak life over our church and it's not gonna come from my words. It's gonna come from the words of the Apostle Paul. Who has gone through it? The man was persecuted, prosecuted, put in a prison cell and yet he writes these words. It's on the screen, Ephesians 3 20. Now to him who is able, somebody say able, to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or even imagine according to his power that is at work within us. To him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. And someone say amen. Yes. Spirit living God we thank you for this truth that we get to experience today as we open up your word. I pray right now Lord God that you begin to give us eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart that knows that you are the God who is able. In Jesus mighty name amen amen. What a privilege and an honor it is to be in week three of Revere Church. I'm over it. I'm not over it. Happy third birthday Revere. I'm excited as in third week of existence. And today if you've been with us you know that we're in a series entitled We Are Revere and what we're doing is we are unpacking the

values of this new community that has been birthed. And this week I want to talk about faith and why faith is the secret sauce of this community. Now as I was unpacking this passage and trying to connect why faith in this house and faith for you are going to be pivotal and who we are as a church community I realized that maybe you might be coming in here and you are looking at me and saying well yeah that's easy for you to talk about faith because you're a pastor. It's easy for you to talk about faith because you've been a Christian for a number of years. It's easy for you to talk about faith because like this is your job. This is what you have to have faith. This is what you do. So let me be honest and say that in 2024 I had something impossible in front of me. And so instead of jumping right into the text about faith I want to just connect to your heart before I try to connect with your mind. Have you been in a place where you've been staring at something in front of you that looks absolutely, fundamentally, unequivocally impossible? Have you tried analyzing and assessing and acknowledging the impossible nature of what stands before you? I have. And I think my hesitation in starting and talking about the ability of God is that if we don't acknowledge where we feel like our faith has been weak what I'm about to tell you won't have strength. So in 2024 I stood on this stage and I shared something that my family was going through that had been private for over a decade. And I didn't speak from a place of victory. I spoke from a place of desperation. I stood before this congregation in what had been a very private manner to my family. I had a conversation with them and I and I said, we have to go public about what we are dealing with in this season. What happens when you pray for something and God doesn't move? We had prayed for more than a day. We prayed for more than a week. We prayed for more than a month. We prayed for more than a year. We prayed for over a decade. And things weren't getting better. Things were getting worse. For 14 years we were believing for a loved one, my brother. He had got caught up in addiction and drugs, mental health issues. And instead of our prayers making things better it was almost as if the more that we prayed the worse that it

got. We were very private because we wanted to respect his privacy and and also the privacy of our family. My dad's a faith leader in the community for over 35 years and what do you do when you're praying for something and it feels like it doesn't move? It got so bad that it broke our relationship. with my brother, it got so bad, and any mother in here will resonate with this. Like you know you are so desperate that instead of praying for God to change a situation, your prayers begin to be like, Lord, take his life so he's not a threat to himself or a threat to anyone else. When I say it was bad, it was beyond bad, it was dire. Dare I say hopeless. And I remember having a conversation with my family, specifically my sisters, as I'm looking at them in desperation and I'm begging them not to give up on Sebastian. Now's the time that we put a stake in the ground and we let the enemy know that he cannot have Sebastian. There's a call upon his life and the drugs are not more powerful than our God. Stand with me. My family was tired and weary and hopeless. So then I asked them, I didn't really ask them, I just said I was gonna do it because at that point, like what are you gonna do, stop me? I said, if you guys don't have faith for my brother, then I'm gonna go to people who do. And I came to you, I came to this community, knowing that you were gonna hold faith for me. I wish I can tell you that on that Sunday,

I was prayed over and you guys were encouraging to me and then everything changed and everything was perfect, but it wasn't. I stood before you and I brazenly, embarrassingly, asked you to pray and say his name, Sebastian. Say his name so that the enemy does not get to hold him by the neck anymore. Say his name and pray for him so that God would do something in his life. And anyone who has a loved one wrestled with addiction or mental unhealth, you know the desperation that you feel. And I remember after fourth service, one of the ministers here, Preston Butler III, I love fourth service because they're not rushed. Every other service is like, I got brunch to go to, pastor, hurry up. Fourth service, they already had their caffeine, they already had their lunch, they love to linger, they just want a little extra worship. And so they didn't mind, but Preston came up as I was walking off and he pulled me back up and he said, no, no, no, we need to pray with you because you have stood the ground and you have prayed with so many of us in seasons of faith. And this season that you might feel like your faith is little or you feel faithless, we're gonna stand with you in faith. And I was prayed over by this beautiful community. I mean, I was weeping, my eyelashes are falling off.

It's like a whole moment, right? And left here and shared with my family, there's a community of people that are warring for Sebastian. Nobody knew this, but at that time, my brother was in a psych ward to be turned over into a full-time rehabilitation center. It looked dark, it looked dismal. A couple of weeks later, we're having a worship night and G Kim, one of the prayer leaders here in our community, by the way, if you have not gone to go see our prayer team, you are sleeping on the prayer team. They're prayer warriors, they wanna pray with you, they wanna war with you. And some of y'all come in all these issues and you leave, I'm like, go get someone to pray over you, come on. Hey, if you need prayer and you're part of our online family, if you click the link right there in the bio, we'll get someone to pray for you. And after service, before service, they're there. Well, G Kim came up to me after one of our worship nights. And she said, Pastor B, I wanna let you know that when I was worshiping and praying, the Lord brought the name Nebuchadnezzar regarding your brother. Now, if you're not familiar with King Nebuchadnezzar, he was a king that resided during the time of Daniel. And Daniel was a prophet, and there's a book of Daniel in the Old Testament. And the book documents

that King Nebuchadnezzar was a wonderful king, a very strategic king, a very powerful king. But pride got into his heart and he lost his mind. Scripture goes as far as saying that he was wandering in fields eating grass. He was a 5150, he's on lockdown. Like he's in a psych ward, the king lost his mind. And when he came to his senses, he repented and the Lord brought his mind back to him. What G Kim didn't know is that the Lord had whispered to me that Sebastian was gonna be Nebuchadnezzar. And I felt like her confirming this gave me enough chutzpah to go to my family and say, we've got to pray that Sebastian's gonna be like King Nebuchadnezzar, that the Lord is gonna restore his mind. And so my dad created a nickname for my brother, Sebuchadnezzar, Sebastian, Nebuchadnezzar. It's funny, it's funny, come on, yeah. So we just began to pray for Sebuchadnezzar. And when dealing with addiction and with dealing with sobriety, you have to be cautiously optimistic. But I stand before you today, and I declare that God is able, because my brother has been sober for 10 and a half months. He's registered full-time as a college student. He got baptized six months ago, and he actually signed up for my leadership recourse here at church, leading for the long haul.

God is able. God is able. And when we started Revere, and we started this series, we wanted you to know the DNA of our house. So I started week one on what is Revere. And then Pastor Cesar came in and he spoke about the value of honor, that we honor up, we honor down, and we honor around. Today, I wanna talk to you about our secret sauce here in this church, and that is faith. I'm tackling this issue of faith, because if you're in this community, the expectation is that you have faith for yourself. and you have faith for this house, okay? Now, faith is needed to start this church because when I told people that we were birthing Revere Church, a lot of other church leaders or other pastors were like, why are you relaunching a church? Are you crazy? Why are you doing this right now? It's 2025. Look at the political unrest, look at the climate. People even said, wait, why are you starting a new church? You're in California. Everyone in California is a liberal. Everyone's going to hell in California. You're starting a church to worship the Lord? Churches are closing down every other weekend. People asked, wait, you're starting a church,

but your lease is done in seven months and you don't have anywhere to go? Yes, yes, and yes. The answer is yes, because I got the gift of faith, baby. He didn't bring us this far to leave us right here. Oh no, we have seen what God has done. And if he did it then, friend, he's gonna do it again. I got faith. I don't got funds or finances, but let me tell you something. I'm very proud of this community. We had a goal to end the year raising 500,000 for our Build the House campaign. We ended at 400,000, so close, so close. My goal is by Easter that we would raise that million so that by the time we have to move out, that we would raise the 1.5 million. But this is what I do know. My God owns a cattle on a thousand hill and he could take whatever we have and he could multiply that, because I got faith. I don't need four-leaf clovers. I don't need crystals. I don't need to manifest my destiny. I got a God who is in control. And Ephesians 3.20 tells us that he is able. And that's what I wanna unpack today with you. So you brought your Bible. Please pull it out and turn with me to Ephesians 3.

If you don't have a Bible, we got one for you at the Welcome Center. We wanna give it to you because we believe in the word of God. And for today, the verses are on the screen. I want us to unpack the why. That God could go past our wildest dream to accomplish more than we could ever imagine. So I'm on assignment today. My mission today is to tell you that whatever your vision is, God is able. How many by show of hands have heard this phrase, God is able? Go on, raise your hand. Yep, yep. Oh, lots of hands going up. Video experience, God gets to you. Put your hand up too. We love this phrase. It's so easy to preach. God is able. God is good. God is good all the time. And all the time, God is good. We love to get this phrase and put it on coffee mugs. God is able. We love to buy pillows that will inspire us in our moments of lacking faith. We'll embroider on a pillow that we put on our couch. God is able.

And if you're really holy, you will pull out your Bible. You will beautifully and ornately adjust your coffee cup that has latte art. And you will take a picture for Instagram. Hashtag God is able. Now here's the thing. We love to commodify and we love to make this phrase feel very spiritual, something easy to preach. But today I didn't come here to preach the word of God, which is proclaim the word of God. I came to teach the word of God that is explaining the word of God. Because so many times we listen to this and we think it's cute. We think it's religious. We think it's God is able, but we're not metabolizing it and it doesn't feel real to us. So I need you to understand, why is it important for us to have faith? Because it reveals the nature of who God is. And why is it important for us to gather here in this community? Why is it a value in this community? Because your faith combined with my faith, we get to see the hand of God move. So maybe you came in today and you're like, I came on faith week. I feel dry.

I feel overwhelmed. I feel visionless. I feel hopeless. I feel overwhelmed. Let me remind you that you might feel overwhelmed, but your God doesn't. He is ready to remind you today, God is able. God is able. And if you have come in here in this place, and that's what you're feeling, the beautiful thing is that you're not alone. Not just me or many others in this community. The author of this passage that we just read, Paul the Apostle, as I mentioned at the top of service, he had been prosecuted, persecuted, and thrown into prison. And where is Paul the Apostle writing this powerful wisdom, this powerful theology of truth? He's writing on a beach in Bora Bora, eating bonbons with a frothy beverage in his hand, swinging in one of those umbrella chairs there along the side of the beach. God is able. Is that where he is? Van, I heard you say the answer, and you are correct. He wrote this letter in prison.

And Paul is writing to people who were persecuted. So here is Paul, who is in prison, and he's writing to his friends in a city called Ephesus. Now, today, is in modern Turkey called Cusadasi. You can go today. There, he's writing to his friends in Ephesus. He wrote a letter called the Ephesians, and he's writing to his friends that were facing severe persecution. Now, I get it. In our modern culture, we feel like we understand persecution. If you were here in California, and you came to church today, and it was raining, you were like, I'm persecuted for Christ. I had to get my parking spot that I usually do, and I have to walk in the rain. This is persecution. Maybe you're here today, and you're in the video experience, and you're like, I'm in the overflow. This is persecution. When the early church was dealing with their persecution, they were dipped in oil and tar. They were lit aflame. To be lanterns leading into Nero's palace. That is persecution So Paul is in prison writing to his friends who are being persecuted and what does he tell them? What does he tell them in chapters 1 2 & 3 of the book of Ephesians? He's reminding them of who they are he's reminding them of who God is and he's reminding them of the

Overwhelming love of God and then all of a sudden and what looks like an apparent break and change of pace He stops to have what I call in Theological terms a praise party. He put on his praise pants He interrupted his treatise of theology to have a little praise party the word in Greek I only give you Greek words that I believe matter to you The word is doxology Paul interrupts his theology to have a doxology and that is praise and worship to God So he's telling them about who God is and all of a sudden he gets a little crazy and in my mind's eye He's there in prison. And if you're familiar with gospel of the 1990s, I'm getting a little Fred Hammond I get a little Kirk Franklin but the song that comes to mind is when I think about Jesus and what he's done for me when I think about Jesus and how he set me free how many you guys know that song a couple of true saints in the house Yes, when I think about Jesus and what he's done for me when I think about Jesus and how he set me free I wanna dance dance dance. Okay, y'all don't feel me. Y'all don't feel me Paul is having an epic praise dance of epic proportion and he is so excited He's taking people on a visual of sense of praise and as I was preparing for this I wanted a visual for us to understand where Paul is taking people theologically in this praise party. He declares now to him But here's the problem many of us don't know who him is So we don't trust him we come down in our ascent of faith, I'm not sure I could trust I don't know I don't know if God's gonna let me down But then you come to church and you're reinvigorated and you're like now to him who is able Is he able I? Don't know. I don't know if he knows how much my mortgage is living in Orange County is really expensive I don't know about my way. We're child. That's all child of corn. That's baby's kids. They're gonna come back to the faith I don't know. I don't know if he's able up. No, I don't so we come down in our ascent of faith But then you get plugged into a recourse or a regroup and you're with people of faith and you're reminded now to him Who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly? above and beyond What your ask and imagination?

How how big are you dreaming church I'm begging you to get out of the little dreams that you have and allow God's face to show you his ability Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine According to what how cute you are how much education you have you're where we thought your finances No, the power of the glory of God that resides within you It is the Spirit of the Living God that is giving you power to know that God is able From generation to generation. It's a little scary in this very faith journey It's a little nerve-wracking My heart is racing in the same way that our faith journey feels a little scary The ascent of praising the Lord will remind you of his ability and Remove your doubt your skepticism your negativity your belief that God is in able to meet you where you're at our God who is able to do immeasurably more than all you could ask think hope or imagine It is that God that is asking you to raise your faith. Get your line of sight up Don't think about your lack. Don't think about your inability think about what God has for you And when your faith comes together with my faith, oh watch out Jesus good things will happen My thighs are shaking cuz I'm a little bit nervous, but I did it for the people did it for the people Look in the economy of God. It's up into the right in our faith journey. Praise God. All right. Oh, we made it Bless God. I got one more service to go. I have to ask pastor Eric. Do we have life insurance? I don't know. Okay, great Paul Doesn't leave us room to guess when we praise God I want to go through this passage Phrase by phrase not word by word phrase by phrase as Paul would have written it to the church in Ephesus So on the screen is the answer to the question. When is the right time to praise God? Oh Come on family online family. I think you were louder than the room in here Okay, put it in the chat box. When do we praise God church the answers on the screen? I'm gonna ask you one more time and pretend that you didn't let me down emotionally Okay, cuz I know you guys can read our public education system shout out to all the teachers. Listen, you guys can read It's a three-letter word you this. When is the right time to praise God? Now. Paul leaves us no room to guess when it is, that we can contemplate the greatness, the grandeur, the glory of a good God. When?

It's now. When do you praise God? And whether you are a project manager, whether you are a student, whether you are an influencer, whether you're a stay-at-home mom, whether you are an entrepreneur, I want you to start thinking about God's power right now. Don't think about it yesterday. Don't think about it tomorrow. I want you to think about it today. Paul is saying, there is a time to consider how good and great God is, and that time is when, church? Now. He wants you to think about that in the midst of everything that you're going through right now. Everything that has happened to you, good and bad. All the people that have come into your life, good and bad. The things that keep you up at night, good and bad. Guess what that is? It is a collection of data points. It's parts that are forming your calling and your purpose. I know, this is what I do know, part of my role, part of my calling in this season of my life, I have an extra measure of faith. I stand with people and believe that they will see the goodness of God in the land of living. And even when I'm a little weak in my faith, I get to come in this community of faith and you bolster me. We are seeing God do miraculous things in this community. Some of you might know Barbara and Tony. Barbara has served in our children's ministry for a number of years. They are some seasoned saints. I love the diversity in ages that we have here. We definitely skew a little bit younger, but for our seasoned saints, I want to say thank you for your maturity. Thank you what you add to the faith of the environment. But Barbara serves in kids ministry. I was able to take Barbara and Tony out to Israel a couple years ago when we had a tour. I love Barbara and Tony. And then we got some disastrous news. That out of nowhere, Tony was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer. They immediately rushed him to the hospital. Things were looking very bleak. We began to pray. And you know who showed up every Sunday while her loved one, Tony, was in the hospital? Barbara. Her children and her family and doctors were with Tony, but Barbara said, there's no other place that I should be than the house of God with the people of God, stirring up my faith. So Barbara would come and she would pray and she would weep. We would gather around her and stand with her in faith. Things were not good. And then they got worse. They knew immediately Tony had to go into surgery and start chemotherapy. However, his body had gone septic. The doctors had told Barbara to prepare for his passing and they wanted her to sign a DNR, a do not resuscitate form. If you get that, it's bad news. Barbara refused because she believed that he was not done. On January 4th, we housed a private gathering for our Revere servant leadership team here. We wanted to train up the Revere serve team. By the way, if you're on the serve team, I love you.

Thank you for pouring into this community of faith to prepare for our launch the following weekend. Now, I was not expecting Barbara to be there because the diagnosis for him going septic was on January 3rd. And yet on January 4th, as I'm gathered with our servant leaders, I felt impressed to pray for Barbara. I'm standing off to the side and I pull the microphone and I'm like, right now, we're just gonna stop and we're gonna intercede. We're gonna pray for Tony who's in the hospital right now. Unbeknownst to me, beautiful Barbara with her blonde hair was right here with the prayer team. She had a mask on and somebody was shouting at me and I thought they were saying like, amen. They were like pointing and I was like, what's going on? Barbara was right here in tears. She said, I know God's gonna heal Tony. And together we were able to come around her and we put a stake in the ground. God, we believe that you're able. We believe that you can. If you heal him, that's your business. But our business is to declare that he will be healed. I got a text message from Barbara that he made it through the night, that the septic was clear from his body. And guess what? Yesterday he actually went home to be with his family. I mean, tell me my God won't do it. Tell me we are still in a journey. There's still a long way that we have to go with Tony, but I take every day as a victory. Every day that that man is alive, my God is able. My God is able. When God gives you a vision for your life, it's not just for you. It's for the benefit of others. I know I'm called to stand in the gap and believe. What are you called to do? Our God is able to do infinitely more than all of that. Right now is the time to praise him. Right now is the time to see that God's working out his plan for our good and for his glory. The time is now. So let's go through this phrase. What's the important thing to note here? Now to him. Who is him? God. God. God who spoke in time began. God who breathed in Adam again and again. God who called sea out of land. God who called night out of day. God who speaks in the mountains quake and the land shakes. God who lifts the sun and dips the moon. God who hung in shame and rose from the grave for our gain. The God whose death brought us life. The God who sees our head hang low and yet lifts our gaze high. The God who chases the one and leaves the 99. The God who knows our past and still grants us a future. The God who is over all and under nothing.

Our God who gives you a future and a hope. Our God who will never leave you, never forsake you and never forget you. A God who loves you, a God who sees you, a God who feels your pain and knows your shame. Now to him, now to him. This is about God, it's not in your power, it's not in my power, it's not in this church's power. Now to him who is able. I wanna give a little space for that to metabolize. To him. Why? Because we in our flesh are tempted to think that our mistakes have precluded us from God giving us a purpose or a call. In our mistakes we can say, what that person did to me robbed me of my destiny. We could say, I'm so far gone from God, I've made so many mistakes, I'm so jacked up, God cannot use me. This is not about you, this is about him. Now to him, so I have to ask you, what are you asking God for? What do you need to be reminded of today that he is able? God is able to do it. I'm here to whisper like the spirit of God. God is able. Now when Paul writes this phrase, I wanna be very clear about the nuances of the scripture here.

Is, he says is able. Jeremiah, he doesn't say God was able. Christi, he doesn't say God will be able. No, no, no, what does he say, church? Is, it's the present tense, meaning God was, is, and will be. It is the active, ever-working power of a loving God. He is able, he was able, he always will be able. Now believing God has a dream is our business. Whether or not he does it, that's his business. Do you believe? Do you believe that God is able? What are you believing God for? And some of you need to be encouraged that God is able because right now you're looking at your family situation and you're thinking there's no way God is able to restore your family. Maybe you're looking at your finances and you're like, there's no way I could save or tithe or give. God is able. Maybe you're looking at your marriage and it looks so far gone. You've lost that love and feeling that things that you loved about them now annoy you and you're like, God is not able. God is able to bring lust into that marriage. I said lust, you should be lusting after your spouse. Maybe you're looking at your wayward son, your wayward daughter, a loved one dealing with addiction.

God is able. In the original language, when we're talking about the power that Paul is speaking about here, the power that resides within, I'm gonna give you another Greek word and it is important and I only give you other languages that I feel are important to you. The word that Paul uses here for power is dunamis. D-U-N-A-M-I-S. We get our English word dynamic. It is the explosive power of God. You have that power, as Paul tells us in Romans chapter 10, the same power that resurrected Jesus from the grave is alive in you. Guess what? That power is on the inside of you. And I wanna be very clear, this power is not some weak, feeble, ineffectual power like human power, oh no, no, no. God's power has a dynamic nature that can change and alter in a nanosecond, that can make and form, that could flatten or erect, that could resurface or rearrange in a blink in an eye. Do you know that dunamis power? That power is what this church will be built on. And the way that this sentence is written, it implies inherent power. As in, if somebody else gets a breakthrough, if somebody else gets their prayer answered,

if somebody else sees the miracle, that doesn't mean that God has less power to give. He is a limitless God with unlimited resources. Just because somebody else got a breakthrough doesn't mean that you're not gonna get it. We don't have to be jealous of anyone. We don't have to be envious. No, we get to be like, yes, I'm inspired. God did it for them, God can do it for me. God did it then, God can do it again. Now to him, God, who is able, infinitely able, to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. The passion translation. I love that when talking about this infinitely more, the phrase that they use is achieve infinitely more than your greatest request. I love in the amplified version, it says super abundantly. No matter what translation you have with you today, I just wanna remind you, God. is able, and the words in these translations might sound a little clunky, because they are. In translating out of the original passage in Greek, Paul, I love him, it's almost as if he made up a new word. He took two words and put them together. So in my mind's eye, Paul is writing to his friends in Ephesus, and he's like, God is amazing. No, no, no, that doesn't work, that doesn't work, okay. God is super cool. No, that doesn't work, that doesn't work, that doesn't work. God is powerful, and he's struggling.

Maybe he's sitting there and he's just having like writer's block, like how do I explain this, the indescribable nature of an all-powerful God, so he does this thing. He takes a prefix, the Greek prefix is hyper, and that word hyper means over and above. So he takes the phrase hyper and puts it with this word, and what he's essentially saying is, God wants to go over and above, you're above and over. He takes two hypers and put this word there, and he's using this because he wants to remind us, whatever you're thinking, whatever you're dreaming, whatever you're imagining is an insult to God because he can do so much more. He goes over and above, the above and over. That is the nature of the God that we serve who is the God of the impossible. Now if you're anything like me, you gotta check your heart because sometimes we hear this and we're like, okay, let me start asking for that mansion in Corona del Mar. I want the Ferrari, I want, if you're a single guy, I want the hot girl, or if you're a single girl, you're like the old guy with the trust fund who's about to die. Our hearts are wicked and nefarious, but if we think about this in the economy of God, what is the impossible thing that you want God to do for you? Because he is able, now to him,

who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to his power, that's the Holy Spirit, according to the Spirit's power, according to his power that's at work within us, to him be the glory. God will get the glory. The glory of the miracle that God does in your life, in Tony's life, in Sebastian's life, in this house's life, God is gonna get the glory. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to his power at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations. This community is making waves and I need you to understand why. It's not because of a person, a personality, or a platform. God is using this church around the globe because we're a people of great faith, because we believe in a great God. I sometimes struggle to communicate what I see for this community. And so in a day like today when we talk about faith, I'm inviting you to see what I see for our church. I see this in the next five years. On the screen behind me is I was dreaming about what Revere is gonna be. Revere Church is a community of passionate followers of Jesus who live for the glory of God.

The cross before us, the world behind us, no turning back. This community is committed to living spirit-filled lives to do whatever God calls them to do, not my will, your will, God, because I'm a disciple, I'm a follower of Jesus. This community is committed to helping and serving those in need locally and globally. Three weeks of existence, we're out here like Diamond Jim giving money to people whose houses were burned in the LA fires because we are a generous people. We serve a God of generosity and we are gonna be generous, a home for those who need healing, hope, and restoration, for the weary, for the burdened, for those that are downcast to come in and encounter the very presence of God. We're a community, a house of worship that creates worship for those outside of this community as well. I believe that the songs that are sung and the lyrics that are written will bring healing and hope to those that are far from God. I believe that we will be people who prioritize education for children, interns, and college students. It doesn't make sense, but I firmly believe that we're gonna be a community that has a school for children, a Montessori. And this isn't far away. Like I'm talking about an internship, that's actually starting this year

and accreditation shortly will follow so that we can get a biblically-based college education that is accredited. I wanna be a church that reaches the globe with biblical truth via technology. Do you know that we have reached millions of people? This is not preacher faith, like exaggeration. Millions of people via YouTube and the podcast and biblical resources. And lastly, I want us to be a house that is desperate and willing to usher in the move of God for this generation to experience revival. I believe that we are a people that when our faith bands together, that the revivals that we've seen in the past will pale in comparison to what God's gonna do. I think sometimes we think that we're Revival is like thousands of people, but you know what revival is? It's you sharing your testimony of what God has done miraculously in your life, like an ember of faith, and it's like a wildfire. Can you imagine? We've seen the desolation, the fires that have wrecked Los Angeles, but what if there was a spiritual fire that came? This morning, as I do every single Sunday and every time I drive to this location, I pass by the Honda Center of the 57, and I raise a hand of faith

because God gave me a vision five years ago that we are gonna be a community that is worshiping the Lord in the Honda Center, that people gather to be entertained, and yet we're gonna gather from different folks, from different places, and different denominations, and different worship styles, and different expressions, and different denominations to come in and have a radical encounter with the Holy Spirit so that people gather, and then they scatter, and they take this wildfire so that revival breaks out. The days of the Jesus movement will pale in comparison to what I believe that God has shown me, that God will do, and I don't wanna be at the back end of that. I wanna be at the forefront of that. Now to him. I don't have money. I don't have resources. I don't have connections. I don't have VCs. I don't have venture capitalists. I don't have angel donors. I got a God that owns a cattle in 1,000 Hill. That's what I got. I got people who are scrappy, and when our faith comes together, we declare now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to his power, his power,

his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory and the church and Christ Jesus throughout all generations, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the ancient of days who was and is and is to come is asking you, do you believe that I am able? In this house, faith is our secret sauce, and I know that there's people in this room that maybe you've never encountered this powerful nature of who God is. Maybe you have been mindful of God, but you don't have a relationship with God. You want that supernatural indwelling power of him. Maybe you're skeptical. Maybe you're a little suspect of the church. Bring your suspicion. Give God a year, see what he can do, but I'm inviting you not to pray some magic prayer that all of a sudden it's your ticket to heaven. This prayer is a declaration. God, this is my first step in being a disciple, a follower of you. I wanna create a sacred space. Will you do me a favor? Will you bow your head and close your eyes? Because there's some people in this room that are gonna make a important decision, and I wanna make sure that this is a place where they feel very safe. If you're here today and you've never said yes to Jesus,

or maybe at one point you were walking with the Lord, but you've turned your back on God, today's the day of salvation. Today's the day to repent and come back into faith. If you're here today, I'm gonna count to three, and if you wanna receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you're gonna raise your hand after I count to three, but one, by raising your hand, you are saying, I wanna follow Jesus. Jesus will be my Savior. Two, by raising your hand, you are saying my mistakes and my failures. What the Bible refers to as sin could be forgiven because of what Jesus did on the cross at Calvary. And three, the same spirit that resurrected Jesus from the grave will live in me as Romans 10 tells me. So if that is you, you're coming to faith in Jesus, or you're coming back to faith in Jesus. I just sense in my heart, somebody's warring. You don't wanna put up your hand, and let me just tell you what it is. It's pride. You're embarrassed of who's gonna think what about you. I just, I can't. For my spirit, I'm just gonna, everyone close your eyes, please. I just, I wanna create space. I don't care if we go over. The salvation of one matters. If you're online, if you're in the video experience, you're in this room, and you're like, I wanna give my life to God. I just don't know if I can trust him. I feel like it's weird.
